Before you can set-up a flight to target specific advertisements to your podcast - you'll need to create a campaign for those flights to live in.
Step 1 - Log into Dovetail Inventory
Step 2 - From the Inventory homepage select the
button toward the upper right of the screen.
Step 3 - Complete each field with the appropriate information.
-
- Name: name for the overall campaign (required)- this should be something that easily identifies who the campaign is for, and can include dates.
- Advertiser: advertiser for the campaign (required)- if you don't see the advertiser, contact PRX AdOps to have them added, or reach out to podcast-support@prx.org
-
Type: select the option that best describes the campaign’s type
- Paid Direct
- Paid Programmatic
- House
- System (Remember to check out our glossary if you don't understand these types.)
- Campaign Rep: name of the person managing the campaign
- Sales Org Name: name of the person or organization who sold the campaign
- Owner: group account that owns the campaign (NOTE: only users with access to this group account will be able to view this campaign.)
- Notes: descriptive text about the campaign (optional)
Step 4 - Click Create Campaign in the upper right corner of the screen
You can cap the frequency of a campaign to ensure only a certain number of impressions are served per day. Please note that Frequency Capping exists at the campaign level, not on the flight or show level.
Go to the Frequency Capping section.
Insert the maximum number of impressions and the period you want that amount spread over you want an individual to experience over that amount of time.
There is a max of 5 caps per campaign.
-
- Use case: you want to limit how often a listener hears the campaign in the short and longer term. e.g., two impressions per day AND ten impressions per seven days.
Click "Add," and you'll see the rule applied.
Congratulations—you've got a working campaign! Next, you can set up a flight so that specific ads can run on your show.
