Still Hearing Ads on Your Paid Apple Podcasts Subscriptions?

Below is a quick guide to help you troubleshoot and get you back on track to enjoying an ad-free experience. 🎧🍎

1. Check your Apple ID and subscription status

Make sure you’re signed into the Apple Podcasts app using the same Apple ID you used to buy the subscription.

  • Open the Apple Podcasts app
  • Tap your profile icon (top right)
  • Click Manage Subscriptions
  • Confirm your subscription is active and not expired.

2. Make sure you’re listening to the correct feed

After subscribing:

  • Look for the version of the podcast labeled "Subscriber Edition" or "Ad-Free" in Apple Podcasts.

3. Try refreshing the app

  • Quit and relaunch the Apple Podcasts app.
  • Check for a pending iOS update (Settings > General > Software Update).
    • Sometimes an iOS update can fix playback issues
  • Restart your device.

4. Sync issues across devices 

Sometimes subscriptions will work on one device and not the other

  • Make sure you’re signed to the same Apple ID across devices

5. Confirm you’re listening on Apple Podcasts

If you purchased your subscription through Apple Podcasts, the ad-free experience is available only in the Apple Podcasts app. If you listen on a different app, you’ll still hear ads even with a paid subscription.

6. Still having issues?

If you've checked all of the above and you're still hearing ads, the best next step is to contact Apple Support directly. They’ll be able to check your subscription status and troubleshoot the issue.
