Once your recording is available, you can access that audio via the Clips tab. Each recording will appear as a recorded hour, which you can edit as needed before attaching it to an episode draft within Dovetail.
Step One - Navigate to the Clips tab.
Step Two - Select Edit next to the recorded hour that you’d like to adjust.
Step Three - Adjust the Preroll and Post-roll Markers to where you would like your audio file to begin and end, respectively. Hit Save.
Pro Tip: Use keyboard shortcuts to navigate your audio
You can use the following keyboard shortcuts to quickly move through your audio while setting ad breaks:

Step Four - Attach the audio to an episode!
To add the audio to an existing episode draft:
- Select Attach to Draft
- Select the draft you’d like to attach the audio to
- Hit Attach
To add the audio to a new episode:
- Select Create Episode
- Give the episode a title, or use the draft title provided
- Hit Create
Once audio is attached to an episode, you’ll be directed to its media files tab, so that you can place your ad markers and continue with publishing as you normally would!
