If you recently published an episode and are seeing it everywhere but YouTube, have no fear, but please do take the following steps in an attempt to troubleshoot the issue before you hit the panic button 😉 !
Prerequisites:
Step 1
Confirm the published episode is available in the RSS Feed connected to YouTube. You can do this by opening the rss feed in your browser and confirming the <title> or <pub date> for the episode that you’re looking for is present.
- If the episode isn’t there - make sure you have your YouTube Feed is selected within your “Include in feeds” options on the episode page:
- If your episode is available in the RSS Feed connected to YouTube then progress to Step 2.
Step 2
Check your feed settings in Dovetail for the feed connected to YouTube to ensure that the Import locked checkbox is not selected.
When selected, this option can block your episodes from importing into YouTube. So, if the box is checked, try unchecking that box and re-saving the page.
Step 3
Once the import setting has updated, go back to YouTube and disconnect the current RSS Feed:
Step 4
Once disconnected, reconnect your RSS Feed to YouTube to pull in the latest episode and all future published episode content.
