You can publish your subscription episodes on Dovetail to your preferred subscription platform (Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, Supercast, Supporting Cast) even if your public feed is hosted elsewhere.
For example, your podcast may remain with a different hosting provider, while your subscription-only episodes are published and managed through Dovetail.

To ensure episodes link correctly on your subscription provider’s backend, the episodes published on your current hosting provider and on Dovetail must share the same GUID (Globally Unique Identifier).
Below is the order of operations for setting up your episodes.
- Log in to id.prx.org
- Create drafts for your episode in both your current hosting provider and Dovetail.
- Schedule the draft to publish on Dovetail first, followed by your current hosting provider, leaving a gap of approximately 20–30 minutes between the two publishing times.
- Copy the GUID generated by your hosting provider for the episode. Replace the GUID in Dovetail with the one from your current hosting provider to ensure both episodes share the same GUID.
- Click Okay to change the GUID
- Click Save to save your changes.
- Schedule the episode or Publish it.
