Dovetail makes it easy for listeners to find and follow your podcast by adding subscribe buttons for popular listening apps on your embed player and your podcast page.
Follow these step-by-step Instructions to set up your subscribe buttons!

Log into your Dovetail account
Go to id.prx.org and log in. - Under My PRX Access, select Dovetail Podcasts.

Select your podcast
From your dashboard, click on the podcast you’d like to update. -
Go to Settings
Click the Settings tab, then navigate to the Engagement Settings tab. -
Add subscription links
- Click Add subscription links.
- Click the question mark icon next to each app field for more information on which ID or URL to enter.
- Select the apps you’d like to include.
- Use the trash can icon to remove any previously added links.
⚡Protip: We recommend adding your Apple ID first, as many other podcast apps use the Apple Podcasts index to power their subscription buttons.

Save your changes
After entering your IDs or URLs, click Save.
Once you've added your podcast IDs, subscribe buttons will appear on your embeddable player. Click the + icon to view them. Selecting an app button will open your podcast’s page on that platform.
Your subscribe buttons will also appear on your show's page at play.prx.org. Clicking an app button will open your podcast’s page on the corresponding platform.

🍎 Apple Podcasts
- Search for your show at podcasts.apple.com.
- Click your podcast.
- The ID is the number at the end of the URL.
- Example: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/example-show/id1234567890 → ID: 1234567890
🎧 Spotify
- Go to open.spotify.com and find your show.
- Click the “...” menu > Share > Copy Show Link.
Your ID is the portion of the URL after /show/.
Example: https://open.spotify.com/show/5z9KxS1F4cYzXfH9yq4Xtz → ID: 5z9KxS1F4cYzXfH9yq4Xtz
