Cross-promotion is an essential part of growing the audience of your podcast. Dovetail Spots makes it easy to share promo content with shows within the Dovetail ecosystem. Just search our show guide for a show or network that appeals to you and then send a request their way!
Prerequisites for requesting a cross-promo swap:
- Both shows are hosted on Dovetail Podcasts
- Both shows have been set-up in Dovetail Inventory
- You show has been enabled in Dovetail Spots

Step 1 - Open Dovetail Spots and select + Request.
Step 2 - Select the Start and End Date for your cross-promo campaign
Step 3 - Next, select the shows that you’d like to run the cross-promo between
Step 4 - Fill in the impression goals for the trade. Values for both shows are required, but they do not have to be identical.
Step 5 - Enter additional details to guide your promo partner in creating their promo for your show
Additional Details:
| Creative Type | Host Read or Non-Host Read |
| Creative Length | 30 , 60 , or 90 seconds |
| Zone | Preroll, Pre/Mid, Midroll, Postroll |
| Host Read Script | Available if the “host read” option was selected previously |
| Creative | The audio ad provided by your partner for the swap. |
| Targets | Only geo targets are available at this time (country, subdivision, DMA Code) |
Step 6 - Select Request to send the promo request to the other show for approval.
Pro Tip: Use the comment section to ask questions or chat with your promo partner! View recent activity to get details about any recent updates to the promo campaign.
Warning: Both parties will need to finalize and accept the cross-promo terms, and upload their creative audio before the promo can officially be scheduled/run.
