What are Outside Purchasers and should I opt-in?

Every time you publish to the PRX Exchange, you will see a section titled "Outside Purchaser Licensing Options." Confused by this section? We are here to clarify.

PRX is designed for US-based, terrestrial radio stations to download content. Any entity that falls outside of that category (podcasts, internet radio stations, international radio stations, etc.) are considered Outside Purchasers. They each have their own licensing terms, so we give you the option to opt-in to purchasing by these Outside Purchasers so your content is protected.

We strongly recommend reading the licensing terms before opting in. They all differ, so click on the purchaser's name to read their purchasing information. You can choose to update your Outside Purchaser preferences on an account level by clicking "Edit account's purchaser preferences" at the bottom.
