As we wrap up the year, we hope many of you are getting ready to reset, rest or simply step back from the day-to-day. To ensure all Is calm before you log off, we’ve put together a checklist to make sure everything stays on track before you hop in the sleigh and head for home:
- Double-check your ingest tool settings. Make sure your ingest tool is set to scan the FTP for updates a reasonable number of times- no one wants to end up on the naughty list.
- For a daily show, 3x a day
- For a weekly show, every day
- Ensure you’re set up to download updated files promptly and avoid unnecessary redownloads of files that haven’t changed, so you don’t tie up your resources.
- Review Carriage and Delivery Days in your subscription so that files aren’t overwritten too early or delivered late.
- Planning on-air schedule changes for Jan 1? Make sure you’re subscribed to the show you wish to air ahead of time.
- Update your station staff list. Add staff who will need access in case of an emergency, and remove staff who are no longer at your station.
We're rolling out enhanced observability tools so we can better monitor how and when files are being downloaded. Think of it like adding a circuit breaker to your electrical panel. If something starts pulling too much power or behaving unexpectedly, the system can trip safely, protect the network and alert us before anything overheats and your power goes out (we’re joking about the last part). More peace of mind!
